Hey there im a new member to this website ive been playing guitar for 10 years and music for about 14.
My main question right now is that i own a 1965 guild thunder 1 amp and i want to replace both the preamp and power tubes. my question is that can i replace my power tubes with something other then 6CA4 tubes? i know this may sound ignorant in this forum but i would appreciate all helpful input.

Welcome. I do not know the answer to your question but you could try the amp forum. Also check out the fender forum. There are some experts there

Welcome!
Are you sure that the power tubes are 6CA4? The reason I ask is that these are more common as rectifiers.
I believe the stock power tubes in your amp should be 6GW8. If so, the equivalent is an ECL86.

edit: just found a link. Is this your amp?
