I've always enjoyed they're tunes especially 'Ballroom Blitz', 'Blockbuster' and 'Fox On The Run'. I still love the haunting sound of the song 'Love Is Like Oxygen'. The band really progressed on and showed how much they had developed creatively.

Sweet and Slade were the first bands that really caught my attention as a kid, made me want to grow my hair! Seems odd now that they weren't allowed to play on their early records, and the early stuff is such a contrast to how they developed. Shame Brian Connelly went so young, he seemed to have it all.
"Action" is probably my favourite sweet track, possibly Def Leppard's too!

Hell yeah, I love that band. Desolation Blvd was one of the best hard rock records of the 70's,IMO. Sweet FA and Solid Gold Brass were two of my favorites. I always thought Queen ripped off their vocal style, with those layered harmony parts.

I listened to Desolation Blvd a few months ago and was knocked out by how great the mix still sounds. That reverb is just as sweet as ever through headphones.
STUPID QUESTION ALERT - Sweet in particular always had a 'trademark' backing vocal with VERY high octave voices in there. Was that backing singers, early harmonizer tricks, or guys like Queen's Roger Taylor who could actually hit that high ?
