Check around on CL, get something used. You should easily be able to find a 412 or 212 from peavey, mesa, avatar, randall, marshall, etc. within your budget.

but of course depending on your ocd levels you should also be able to get a matching cab for that budget too. nothing looks better than a matching head and cab.

I dunno. Sometimes mismatched / hermaphrodited stuff is secksy.

Always liked the look of a Marshall plexi on top of Orange cabs (especially in black tolex)

I dig the way my Randall looks on top of my MF280B Marshall cab

There's an empty Mesa cab on flea bay, but if you got it, shipping could be high.

You can't go wrong with a Marshall 1960B, it's my favorite cab. If you're willing to buy used, you can get two for the $800 that you want to spend.

In my general area (SE PA) there's a couple of 4x12 Mesas on CL for $650 and less.

There's a vertical 2x12 that slowly has come down, now down to "only" $460. I'm DYING to be a low baller deluxe and toss a $300 offer to 'im to see if he'd bite.

JCA's 4x12s are good quality and are unique w/o the gaudiness of the the Orange cabs. I scored their 2x12 open or closed back for $230 from M123 and it is a really good cab. I prefer Eminence speakers and the JCAs come loaded with them.

cabs are stupid cheap right now, those prices seem high. used mesa 412s should be under 500 or that person doesnt really want to sell it. 1960s less than 400.
