Hello!
Does anyone of you know how i can mod a 1W/1/4W Switch into my Valve Junior Head?
Goal is to cut the output power so I can enjoy that cranked tube sound in my bedroom.
I can't find schematics of a mod like this on the internet, thought maybe one of you knows something?
greetings,
grep.
btw I'm new here, cool forum, been browsing it for some time!

I wired an L-pad into my VJ to accomplish this feat. Very simple - just two resistors. You can also use a rheostat to make it variable, but I just have it as a switch.

Can you post a schematic of that please? hand-drawn, anything and maybe some values of the resistors?
thanks for the replies!

I did this mod like 5 years ago, I don't remember the specifics of what I did. There used to be a good guide on Ted Weber's site but it's gone now.
Check out this site for an overview of the simple L-pad
http://diy-fever.com/misc/l-pad/and this one will tell you the effective wattage you'll get by the specific decible reduction
http://www.diyaudioandvideo.com/Calculator/LPad/So you run from your OT to a switch that allows you to select either straight to the speaker, or engaging the L-pad.
