Feedback on organic rock mix? - natural drums etc..

Hi guys,
I recently fully treated my mixing room and this is the first mix session I've had since doing so, it'd be great to get some feedback on how this track is translating on your systems if you don't mind giving it a listen.
It's not complete - the vocals haven't been comped yet so I've left those out. The drums are fully natural (no samples), which I'm happy about, and there isn't any limiting on the 2bus so you will need to turn it up a bit.
Any feedback would be awesome, especially regarding low end.
Cheers!

Great punchy drums, bright snare and I like the ambience behind it.
I think there's a little space in the low mids that could be filled by more bass guitar, definitely on my small work speakers the bass is getting lost.
Other than that and the lack of vocals, great mix. Good sense of excitement, energy, you've used space well and not been afraid to hard pan. The playing's great and it's been well recorded.

Thanks man, I really appreciate the feedback and kind words! I updated the link recently with a bit more mids in the bass and also killing a smidge of sub since it was a bit too deep compared to most reference material. This'll be getting a professional master, I'm hoping the engineer can bring out the right character in the top and low end

Lol @ organic rock
That sounds kick ass, and I love the tune
The drums and bass in particular sound stellar

I am not a very good at critiquing what is missing in mixes, but I think that everything sounds pretty damn good. The drums do sound punchy, but once everything kicks in, I feel like I am missing some of the bass drum and some of the toms. The snare really stands out in comparison to the rest of the kit. The bass guitar sounds good and lends great support to the guitars. The guitars sound nice and raunchy! May I ask, what guitars, pickups, and amps were used? They sound great and cut amazingly!!!
Overall, bad ass tune and I think it will come together very nicely! Also, I should mention that I am listening to it on my Yamaha HS50M monitors too...

Thanks dude! Guitars were all done with my ViK Caprice hollowbody, which has the most amazing balanced tone and harmonic content I've ever come across, it really is a pleasure to record. It has a Bare Knuckle Mule in the bridge and a Manhattan (humbucker-sized P90) in the neck. The amp is... Axe-FX II for this song
Instead of starting a new thread, this is a mix I did today for a rock project of my own. Again, real drums with no samples whatsoever. Guitars are the ViK again, this time through a Diezel VH4 into my Zilla 4x12 with V30s and Lynchbacks in an X-pattern. SM57 on one of each type of speaker, then a pair of U87s in the room for natural ambience. Bass is Darkglass B7K through a Vintech 273 pre in parallel with clean DI being smashed with through a Distressor into a Chandler Germanium pre. Vocals haven't been tracked yet

stick your guitar's pickups in front of your amp's speakers and turn it up.

Sounds amazing as usual. I prefer the guitar tones and the mix on the second song though. It's just beefier. The low end of your mixes has always stood out as being huge but controlled, but I feel like it's held back a little in the first song. I'm digging hearing you using real drums!

Thanks man, I updated the first link to a newer version with vocals, it's been improved a little since my OP. The second track is definitely much punchier/beefier but a lot of that is down to the material and playing. Also bear in mind the first song doesn't have anything going on on the master bus, which might be a reason for things sounding less glued/thinner.

Damn, I really dig those vocals! Reminds me of Robert Harvey (of The Music), who definitely has one of my favorite voices.

The kick sounds too loud in that first song to me. It's almost too punchy, you can really feel it over the music rather than it being part of the track.
