Another round of setups at my favorite high end local shop. I've had my LPs Plek'd, the EVH setup, and I figured it was time to get the SG setup with 9s. They did an amazing job cleaning her up and playing better than ever. Absolutely sings now.

and after 20 some years this bass was finally setup. It played like wet garbage ever since new, but this shop worked their magic and it's like night/day difference. No longer frets out, notes ring out, plays great and for the first time ever I'm excited to play this bass.

It's such a slow and painful process to sort through and take care of the deferred maintenance on vintage gear

I have a few more amps to get to, as well as several more guitars

Thanks all for putting up with my masturbatory post of the SG. I love it, and this is the first time it's been cleaned up properly in a long time.

Tone Shop in Addison. They are AWESOME. A real old school type of shop with an amazing high end inventory. Plus their employees/owner are all players too so they'll talk shop and BS with ya. Really cool dudes.

I had my main LPs plek'd with new nuts, and they're flat out amazing now. I was more conservative on the SG and their tech let me know it's not perfect because it's on the verge of needing frets and the nut is cut a bit low. I was okay with that because it's light years more playable than it was and it's a once in a while guitar because of the value. If I was gigging it then I'd definitely go along with the new nut and refret.

I'm going to give them a call and see if they can do handle that in my limited time frame.

You could cure the neck dive by letting it become headless!
