Micro belt clip amps?

My son wants to dress as a metalhead for Halloween this year, and wants to have a working mobile guitar rig - so I suggested getting something like a Marshall MS2.

I know there are others like Blackstar Fly 3, 5153 micro, and Boss Katana Mini, but what's the real world experience with those? Anyone have experience?

I did pick up a Pocket POD today at a pawn shop for about $60, and I figure if nothing else I can feed that into an MS2 or similar

I have a Katana mini in my guitar repair bench. I use to test my pickups installs, cables etc

It sounds great for a little practice amp honestly.

But for a costume, the Marshall is the way to go since it's an iconic look.

I got one of those Laney micro-stacks. 4x3" speakers. Has a strap clip in the box. It's a little heavier than some of them, but sounds a bit more like an actual amp than some of those little single-speaker jobbies. Plus, it'll make a nice late night practice rig when you just need to hear a little distortion and don't care about firing up the big rigs.

The pedal version looks pretty cool too.
