Been trying out the SD Omega pickup, which I have to say I like quite a bit! So here are some clips.

I dialed in my mic positions using my new BD DT700 Pro X headphones. These things are pretty awesome! Sweating WAY less without that stupid fucking fake leather bullshit material lol. I also used the Koa V while dialing in mic positions. In retrospect, I should've went back and redid the positions for each guitar, but I guess this will have to do. Same mic positions for all 3. Mics are Heil PR30 and Lewit MTC whatever 240 condenser. Both micing each of the Redbacks in my Mesa OS 412.

Probably will mess with the SM57s and 906 sometime soon.

The Omega may not be right for the OGV. It doesn't seem as juicy in that guitar. I may go back to the Nuke again. That thing always seems to win in this guitar haha. I love the Omega in the strat, though, so I will keep it in there until I feel like changing to something else, which always happens lol. I am digging the ALX in the Koa V a lot. It sounds way different than the other 2. Whoever said pickups don't matter is a fucking moron haha.

I do prefer the OGV with the Nuke. But the Omega is cool too.

If I had to rank these clips:

1- OGV with Nuke
2- Strat
3- OGV with Omega
4- Koa V

The ALX pickup sounds radically different than the others. It's also a departure from the tone I've known from you. More of a 90s metal tone rather the modern style you usually go for. I like it, but I think it's a tone I'd get tired of after a while.

Those BD DT700 Pro X headphones are legit! I've got a pair too, and the comfort level is just next level.

I agree with this, except I am not sure if I will get tired of the EMG tone. Especially since it probably isn't going to be my main recording tone. But for band practice, it was so fucking punchy and dominating. I think it really shines there. But yeah, fucking Wade and his bullshit awesome sounding pickups lol. Hard to beat that pickup in that guitar. Luckily, the strat is RIIIIIIIGHT there, not quite as good but SUPER SUPER close with the Omega, so best of both worlds, I guess.

As far as the headphones...I've had them for like 2 days lol, but so far they are great. I agree about the comfort level. Guitar tones translate REALLY easily to my monitors, so I actually know what to expect. The ATs always reminded me more of my Yamaha HS8s, a lot more harsh sounding and tough to be happy with anything I was hearing, so it's definitely a welcomed change. Especially since the drivers blew on those things lol.
