Building a guitar for one of the guitars teachers at the shop. He likes a lot of flash. The front has block abalone inlays too! Lol. Luminlay side dots and it will be a silver sparkle finish color. Spraying it this week. But here’s that flame. Honestly it’s too much to me. But no doubt that’s “master” grade. We paid a decent penny for it. Well, to me, it’s expensive. A little over a $100 for the rough blank. Just seems hard to spend $100+ on a 3 ft maple board. But it looks flashy as fuck. And if I need to clarify, everything all handmade from scratch. Slotting fretboard as well. The fretboard is a tempered Blackwood. Honestly I forgot what it was specifically called. But I bought a few boards when LMI came out with it some years back. I believe it’s Royal Blackwood?? Anyway, it’s tempered to get the uniform black. Also the dude wanted carbon fiber rods to add even addition stability. I can’t imagine this will have much issues with these Chicago wild weather swings.

Thanks man. I’ve made a few flamed maple necks. Some close to this much figure but this one really is primo figure. And idk, I’ll build em, cause people like em, but I’m honestly not the biggest fan of flame necks… Weird right? Lol.

Thanks dudes. If anyone likes this, I have juuust enough to build a Strat neck from what’s left. Get in touch. I’m reasonable priced. For this it’s definitely a bit more money, but $400 plus shipping, for a top grade roasted flame maple, choice of fretboard wood, fretted and finish lightly with gun stock oil and wax.

fucking love it. I don't like flashy guitars for the most part, but these super flamed maple necks are a huge exception. One day I'm going to have a custom strat built with a neck like this.
