NMD: This Had Better Work

Good evening,
The Rødecaster is not the right tool for my needs. I bought a Yamaha MG12XUK, which is a 12-channel mixer, for $250, on sale. I can run it into my Scarlett 2i2, which I will be upgrading to a new interface (please help me with that one), and output stereo, with my KRK Rokits. It’s a proper mixer. Cheap, but proper.

Don't remember how to skip the preamps in the Scarlett or even if you can. Otherwise your double preamping. Plenty of great interfaces out there with great converters but the price can get deep. How many inputs would you need and what flavors? Adat, XLR, TRS and whatever. Also depends on Computer and Windows or Mac. Antelope, UAD and RME are all very good.

With most modern interfaces, there's a switch in the input jacks so when you plug an 1/4" cable into the preamp's combo jack, it automatically bypasses the mic preamp. The preamp is only active if you have a XLR cable plugged in.

that Mixer already is a USB interface, so you could skip the Scarlett altogether

I upgraded from a Scarlet 2i2 to a Solid State Logic SSL2.
Biggest upgrade EVER. The SSL stuff is LEGIT.

I'd never looked at the SSL2 or similar interfaces but just checked it out. They get GREAT reviews and I was surprised at cheap they are. They're really that good?
