Two Craigslist scores

Post by MikeO »

About a month ago I randomly checked Craigslist and found a late 80's GK 200 MB 1x12 combo. I have two of the head version of these and they are my favorite bass amps, but I hadn't been able to find the combo in good enough condition to bother buying. The one on Craigslist was in excellent condition and came with the bag. $225. Done.

The gear gods have shined their glory down on me and I'm a very happy man. :thu:

Then, it gets even better. Again, I randomly check Craigslist and find a Crate GX-130C in excellent condition, and the matching 4x12 cabinet (in not near as good condition as the head, but still rock solid). Again, I'd been looking for one of these for ages, and just never found one at a price I could justify since the prices on these spiked on the used market. $250 for the head and cab. Done and done.

Praise the gear gods and let us all rejoice at their generosity which has embiggened my soul and my gear collection! :rawk:
Amps: 5150 (w/bias mod), 5150 II, PRS MT-15, FJA PV XXX, Framus Dragon, FJA PV Penta, PV Rockmaster-->Marshall 9100, PV Ultra 120
Cabs: 3 Marshall 1960B, Laney GH412, Avatar 2x15, PV XXX 4x12, Bogner OS 2x12.

Man, I've been good about not buying gear this year and you bring me right back with your story. For me, it was about the bargain hunting as much as it was acquiring the gear.

I like GK. I have an 800RB head and a 700RB MkII in a 2x10 combo.

Nice scores. I used to do small club gigs with a bassist who used that 1-12 GK combo. I was amazed at how that little box could fill the room. Enjoy!
