Had it boxed up and ready to ship. All I had to do was tape it up and put a label on it.


But.....


I went and saw some live music last night and a guitarist was using his. I knew immediately I couldn't do it no mo. So this morning, out of the box it came. Just need to swap my preffered tubes back in and play.

Mark IIIs are sweet amps.

are they still going for $3-4k or has the market come down?? im thinking maybe all marks took a little hit with the VII coming out?

Was there already a deal in place to buy it or did you decide to keep it before listing it?

I boxed it up for armegeddon and made a demo video back in Feb.. Then it just sat in the box while I sailed down a river of denial. I couldn't muster the will to list it.

Shipping it will require a refi. The first time my dad picked it up he asked me "Is this thing filled with lead?".

They've come down some. But they are still somewhat iconic in their own right. So I doubt they will ever crash.

Smart choice. I don't plan on getting rid of mine any time soon.

I am surprised you saw someone using one live! I have seen one guy in the late 90s when we were gigging originals (out in the sticks at least) using a Mark. It's your forever amp \m/

Yeah I've seen some Mark Vs and VIIs lately, but I haven't seen someone playing a III or even IV live in a long time, maybe 10+ years. It seems like most people are keeping them as studio/home amps these days.

This guy has been playing this III since he bought it from Pete Chramiac when Verbal Assault broke up in 1991. It was part of a stereo rig that included a JCM800, some rack efeects and two 4x12 cabinets.

Ironically enough, now that VA is out playing again, Pete has to borrow it for live use

I see the Mark IV out and about quite a bit. Most of the time it's in a cover/tribute band using the IV combo.

The last time I saw a Mark III live was when I last brought my old one out

I wish Troy Pistachio would go back to Mark IIIs. That tone was way better than the trainwrecks hes using now

Live.... These were the best shows of my life. The best nights of running completely fucking wild with no restraints or boundaries.

Goddamn that sounds righteous on "Exile".

It would be criminal to not post this one. I wish they stayed together and kept going in this direction.
