ESP EC-1000 Baritone review and clips..

I have been using 7-strings for the longest time and now switched over to a Baritone tuned to drop B instead.
I was just tired of fighting the larger neck and wanted something that felt a bit closer to a 6 string.
I have tried drop B on 25.5" scale but always felt like the string tension and sustain was not right and sound was not "snappy" enough.....

Was lucky enough to grab one of these..

I seriouly did not expect to like this guitar as much as I do so far :)

Neck -
I really like the smaller neck vs 7 String.
27” scale vs 25.5” is really not a noticeable difference feel wise....you can tell its a bit longer but nothing crazy or nagging you as you play.
The longer scale does indeed allow you use thinner strings and get more tension which is what I was looking for :)
Stainless Steel x-Jumbo frets are really nice and bending is fantastically fast on them.

Pickups -
Fishman Fluence Moderns are great.
I do prefer voice 2 which is a bit fatter and less 1-2K focused
(none of that cocked wah sound)

I ended up redoing guitar parts with it I liked it so much.

This songs all bridge humbucker voice 2

I greatly prefer baritone 6's over 7's or 8's myself. 6 string4lyfe baby

Clip sounds great btw; low end on some of the bass might be a bit too boomy but the guitar sounds awesome

Ah thanks for the feedback on the bass...!!!!!

I thought it was a bit on the boomy side but was not 100% certain on my speakers.. :)
I will go though it and see if I can figure out what frequency that is..
Mixing bass is always the hardest part for me.

I don't why the idea of using a baritone did not hit me earlier.. lol.

Thanks so much.. !!!

I ended up doing that silly capacitor mod to mine on the blue channel.
Did not make a massive difference ....but certainly makes the low end match up better when switching from clean to the blue channel.

One of the project I play in does Rock and a fair bit of Country stuff and I am always impressed how well it handles both.

Hope you like the new head. re... "i have a 50w el34 coming"
