One of those is never ever put fake shitty 2D printed vinyl tort on your instrument. Always use real celluloid/ nitrate “ the good shit”. Like Spitfire or some other fancy stuff. My personal preference is single ply transparent but its hard to find.

Just scored this, been looking forever. Its originally what Paul wanted on the Pittman but we couldn’t find… ‘til now.

Those look great. Red tort on white is my favourite.

Thanks man! I’m a big fan of Spitfire pickguards too though expensive you can score used sometimes. They look killer on a Fender.

So Paul will have to wait.. I can still hear the No now. I left the mint on the Dakota, it’s just to classic. Its a Spitfire too so… I put this thing on the Wilkins. There is actually a degree of separation with these 2 as Bruce Johnson made both necks. Bruce used his unique epoxy encapsulated truss rods on both. Paul and Bruce worked together for years in that old shop Echo park was in if you’ve ever visited. So yeah my 2 SoCals. But the tort looks better on Pats satin white. Check it

Yeah that's really cool. I usually don't like this pickguard color but it's mostly because the plastic version of it doesn't look good.

But the celluloid looks great. Night and day difference from the cheaper stuff. Where do you get these pickguards from?

You should try a pickguard made of 1970s' wood paneling. That would look sweet.
