What simple, easy, cheap ish looper pedals y’all suggest? Just something to lay down a rhythm to meedley over.

I use a Zoom G3n for the loop. It's very easy to use and I can add some extra effects to the looped parts.
As far as dedicated loop pedals go the Boss Loop Station is great.

Boss rc1 with an fs5u is hard to beat.

I think Amazon has some cheap ones. I like my simple Ditto. They go used for around $70, seen 'em low as $50, I also have a Boss one that has horrible drum sounds too, which I find kinda cool in a cheesy way. But I think it's hungry for mA. I have to have a separate power supply for it and can't daisy chain it with my other effects (I don't have a nice power supply).

Boss RC-1 is pretty hard to beat for straight forward simplicity. I’d go with that
I fucking hate dittos

For home practice, the Digitech Trio or the Trio+ are cool. It's a drum machine that lets you layer loops over the tracks. Used on Reverb = $140 and up.

I'm a fan of the Ditto x2 because you can set the second switch as a stop button. Having to double tap pisses me off.
