Who's a Kahler expert?
So I don't ever use a trem. I just prefer the versatility of a hard tail guitar so that I can quickly and easily switch tunings. My Carvin V220 has the original Kahler Pro, and while it is in pristine condition and functions perfectly, I would like to swap it with a fixed Kahler. So I look on the Kahler website and it looks like there's 3 different options, and I can't figure out what the difference is between them all. There's the 7300 and two different versions of the 3300 if I remember correctly. What's the difference?
Looks like they're all the same price too. I am confused.

3300 and 7300 are pretty much the same bridge, only difference is the material, the 3300 is a steel/brass composite while the 7300 is only brass. People tend to like the 3300 better. Either model will fit your guitar.

There’s also this. You replace the springs and the load lever screw with this. Adjust as needed and you have a hard tail.

Well goddam son, that's a much easier and cheaper solution! I'm ordering one right now.
Thanks for the tip!

Way back, when, I had a machine shop available to me. I took bridge off & drilled hole in the end & threaded a screw into part that moved. Worked for me!

This is what Kahler does now. It’s a small set screw, so it doesn’t have a significant effect on the sustain, and it isn’t as stable as that bent plate, but it helps when you change strings.

Damn, that's clever. My Kahler guitar hasn't been out of the case in years, a Gibson Q100

These are cool. and work OK. I have used them twice. Once on a Cantrell sig and I also have a Charvel with a Kramer neck that I modded with the Kahler for an arch top Gibson style guitar. The scale length was wrong and it's a terrible mongrel that i still play a lot. I was young and stupid. Anyway, I use one of these on that guitar. The age of it and the beating young me applied to it were making it useless as a trem. I had to drill the holes of this to make it fit because the older Kahlers are not quite the same as the newer ones from around 2000 or so. It still goes a bit sharp if a string breaks.

Re: Who's a Kahler expert?
Yeah the locking clip works well but it's not a perfect fit for all Kahlers, specially the older OEM tremolo. But it's worth a shot for $12.
Personally, I'd go with the fixed bridge. The fixed bridges are more solid in construction and sound better than the trems.
It seems expensive at first but the old Kahlers sell well on Reverb to recoup a chunk of the cost and have a better solution in the long run.

Re: Who's a Kahler expert?
If the clip works, sweet. If not, hey it’s only $12. That’s why I suggested it.

For what it's worth, mine's in an 80s Kahler Flyer and fits.
