You know how I feel about Epiphone. But this is pretty cool.

Wasn't this thing (or one very close to it) released years ago?

This is cool and I tried to get an original one when they came out a while back. No luck and i don't want to spend that much on an epi, rare or not. I am also a guitar snob. Epiphone is just, hard for me to play. I love a good cheap guitar. I'll play a plywood Maestro Junior at gigs sometimes but for the life of me that peghead even though its much better than it used to be still bugs me.

yeah this is $1299 new, so not exactly cheap. My hope is they will hit the used market at a reasonable price at some point. But the new price is out of question to me.

I hope they keep this in production for a while. On the one hand, it's cool and it's got the features I like. I'm a Lifeson fanboy and part of me REALLY wants this. On the other, I know I buy and play PRS SEs but for an Epi this is too much, regardless of name on it. And to get it closer to his actual Gibson sig, you're gonna want to yank the Probuckers and drop in a 496R at the neck and 498T at the bridge.

This version doesn't have the piezo on the floyd either. Interesting. That's not a deal breaker for me, necessarily.

Ok the more I think about this, the more it’s a no. If it was still $899 like the last ones were when they launched, I might bite. At $1299? I can get better guitars. I love Alex and his playing but I have plenty of guitars that fit with his style over the different decades. Between 3 Gibson Les Pauls, my Epi Sheraton with Gibson Classic 57 pickups, my HSS Strat, HSS Charvel and PRS Cu24 I’m more than covered. If I had had fuck you money to buy one of his Gibson Axcesses I would have. Since I didn’t, I’m not really worried about this one. It’s a pretty guitar no doubt. And I’m sure it plays well enough. But I got plenty of things that I can grab for Lifeson vibes (minus an EDS-1275 and Hiwatt Stack for those Hemispheres and Kings tones).
