1972 JMP 50 watter! All original except it does in fact have a 3 Prong plug. I went to buy the head with new Gator road case and as soon as I plugged in I knew it was coming home. These have so much more gain then what I expected. Definitely enough for EVH. And loud as expected. Then on the way home I stopped at a music store to get some patch cables and they had the matching cab! Had to get it. I think it's a 72 or 73 as it has plastic handles, but hard to tell as it is loaded with 80's G12T75's. I'm going to put Greenbacks on top. Bucket list rig!

Not too bad. $3500 for both with Gator case. Not a steal but decent I think.

Thanks! I agree. Before it was too late I ran it through my giant ass oversized ported 1x12 with the Eminence Reignmaker which is a Greenback based attenuating speaker but more scooped with a little more top end. Instant VH1 tones! Also no noise except feedback when too close. I think the caps are fine. It has less noise and quite a bit more gain than my 83 JCM800 had.

Also, it is right there with the Cameron Mig, Mesa IIB+ Coli and vertical input 2204 as far as best amps I've had. Placing them depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

Fwiw, the cab looks to be an early 80’s. The fact that it shows a power rating of 300w, has plastic handles, and the rectangle model badge are dead giveaways.
For example, my ‘78 1960a has a circular model badge and is rated for 100w.

I can believe it as it seems serial numbers are garbage for judging age. At least it looks the part.

Although it doesn't have and never has had plastic corners. There is that?

Maybe they rated speakers at the Canadian exchange rate? Lol. Seriously though, I posted this so I could get knowledge like yours. I knew the cab could be an overpay at 1k but didn't cate.

Yeah the cab is a bit of a mystery. Duncan is right that this badge and the 300w rating is definitely 80s. And obviously the 75w speakers are also from the 80s. The jack being at the top also indicates 80s...
But on the other hand, no plastic corners is unusual for an 80s cab.
Hard to tell exactly what it is. But it's not that important at the end of the day since the cabs didn't change much at all. The main change were speakers and minor cosmetic details.
