Boss ME-90

It was released today (or very recently) and it's all over YT. Pretty much all main guitar channels have some kind of demo.

I kind of like it. My first "multi-effects" unit in the 80s was the ME-5 (which was great btw) so I have a nostalgic soft spot for this series. I think the demos sound really good. I also like the fact it has knobs in the front and no menus.
And finally, it's $350. I really feel that kind of price point is the sweet spot for digital, since you will upgrade it in the future, as the tech progresses. It's really hard to make a $2k investment on something that is bound to be obsolete, but $350? That's doable.
Obviously it has limitations at this price point, no midi, xlr outs, 3 IRs slots etc.. but I don't think it's anything that would keep most players from using it as a grab and go/DI option?

What do you guys think?

Yeah I remember that. I think one of the guys from Radiohead used one too at some point.

Even Nuno uses one to this day in the loop of his DSL. I think it's a GT10 or something similarly ancient lol.

Yeah, great value and tones. I have the GT1000 and It will always be a part of my rig. Never played a bad Boss product and their modeling is basically like the Katana. If you love Marshally tones they are hard to beat. I also have the GT-1 and it is on my pedalboard and I use it into a Bluetooth speaker as my practice rig. Best small practice rig tones Ive ever gotten.

I don't know man. It thought it sounds good as far as modeling goes.

I would not be replacing my entire rig with it, but to be fair I wouldn't be doing that with any modeler at any price. But for a quick grab and go setup, I think it's fine. It sounds like a floorboard version of the Katana, which I like so :idk: I will probably pick one up just to have a DI solution on hand.

i was thinking of you watching saying there is no way billy with the best "digital sensing" hearing around can possibly think this sounds good  id guess this was a "revisiting 30 year old gear" series or something if i walked into the room and heard and saw some of these demos not knowing it was new

Oh I definitely think it sounds digital  but at $350 I can live with it.
My point was more like how $350 digital is not that far from $2500 digital.

If I didn't already have a full pedalboard I'd def buy this just for 4 cable fx. Solid price for sure

I think for 4CM only, the MS-3 is a bit better. It's smaller and it has more effects, amp channel switching etc. But this would work well too.

FWIW, $2500 digital sounds the same as $350 digital.

Pretty much.
That is why if I'm buying a modeler, $350 is where I'm looking at
