Looking for a pedal that will do chorus/trem or vibe with separate rate controls.... Like the BBE mind bender, but you have to use same rate control or fiddle w/the pedal... Found a tortuga martini, damn they're pricey. Thought about building a byoc pedal and putting a chorus & tremolo in the same housing.....

Suggestions?

Tortuga pedals are really cool.

Take a look at the Wilson effects deluxe haze. Youtube the wilson effects uber haze if you want some phaser in there as well. It can switch between chorus and vibe, when the rate and depth knobs are cranked it is very trmolo-esque.

Looked at the tortuga again, haven't played one yet. Might be worth the coin as it looks like it'll do everything I'm looking for. The haze looks like it still has only one rate control.

It is only one rate control, but if you shoot Kevin Wilson and e-mail he might be able to customise it for you. The Tortuga is cool though, if that does exactly what you want you might as well go for that and not get something you may not be happy with.

Yeah. It's a toss up right now between the tortuga and building a dual pedal from byoc. Would really like to try one first. Not sure anyone has them close by...

I can build one for half the price, but them again might be worth it just to get a quality pedal.

The Tortuga will retain value, but it will be hard to sell. Building a pedal you can make adjustments to it, but it won't have much re-sale value. If you could somehow get hold of the schematic for the tortuga and the parts, you may be able to build that at cheaper cost?

Although it'd probably be less hassle just to buy the pedal new in that case.
