Floyded Les Pauls

I think I want to add one to my collection. Gibson is out I'd question here because they're more than I'm willing to pay for a Floyd guitar since I don't play Floyds that much.

So what are the options out there? I know Fernandes/Burny makes one so I'm looking at them.

What else? Preferably under $1k but decent quality.

LTD? They can be had on the cheap on the used market. Just say no to the abalone'd ones though

A couple of options. Both have stainless frets.

Les paul shreds. Looks like they have went up in price but not too bad if you can find one.

yeah this is kinda doable. I would certainly be happy with having the Gibson version, but it is still on the pricey side but definitely something to consider.

I've had Eclipses. And I like them. But other than aesthetics, they're very different than LPs, they're more like LP shaped superstrats, if that makes sense. Maybe a Full Thickness model would do it though, I need to check if they have a FT with a Floyd.

I think the Alex Skolnick sig has a FT body. Not sure of any non sig models that do. They release so many variations every year

I think an ESP is the way to go but if you want a more traditional LP there's the Alex Lifeson Axcess.

The Epi Lifeson Access would be great if they actually produced them. I think they were released and discontinued within a couple months.

As far as FT goes, I think with the amount of wood removed for a Floyd, you're not going to get that traditional LP tone anyway, so there's not much downside to going LTD.

The “burst” in burstbuckers refers to the bursting sound of diareah coming out of a butthole that those pups capture so well

I know you don't like cheaper guitars but I have an Xaviere from Guitar Fetish and it has the full thickness body, LP Standard style neck joint, 60's neck. Mine sounds every bit as good as most Gibson Les Pauls Ive owned after upgrading only the pickups. I put a trem stop and EVH detuna on it and after 3 years still holds tune perfect. Check them out at Guitar Fetish if you're interested.

By the way, I won't sell mine. It's my favorite who gives a fuck guitar. Used to be a Korean Hamer (still have) before this. It's better in every way except shitty GFS pickups.

I'm not opposed to it for this particular guitar, since it's something that I'll use sporadically. And GFS is generally decent. Not top quality stuff but as good as most other import brands.
I'll check them out.

Let me just say I didn't expect to be impressed. At. All. Fwiw, you and I are probably 90% the same on tones and rigs. Maybe I got lucky or maybe the majority of positive reviews are right? I was in a similar situation, always wondered if I would like an access LP. Didn't want to spend big money to find out. At the same time as this guitar I owned a 2021 LP Standard, 2020 LP Standard,2020 PRS Mc Carty 594 Singlecut core, 2020 PRS McCarty 594 doublecut Core and it and my 2019 PRS S2 Mc Carty 594 double cut are the keepers as I'm going through my 2nd divorce and they played and sounded as good as guitars that cost much, much more.

Yeahhhh I've used the FRX it worked fine but man it's fugly.
Maybe a black one would be better but idk.

I certainly wouldn't do it to any of my current LPs but maybe buy a Studio to do that...

Might be able to stumble into some sort of used LP with a Kahler for dirt cheap. I remember you saying you preferred them at least at some point, and Kahlers are real value killers

I'd think that is the case, but apparently it's not. Every Kahler'd LP I've found is super expensive.
