Stupid Toenail Removal

So, tomorrow I get the nail removed off of my big toe. You might be wondering what kind of catastrophic event could've occurred to have such a thing happen?
Well, let me tell you. Last year we rescued a dog around March/April. Got her home, she's excited, and steps on my feet. I try to get her to understand boundaries, but it wasn't happening. She manages to step on my left foot and wedge one of her nails between my toenail and the meat of my toe. Hurt like a mother fucker!
Not even a week goes by and the nail starts to yellow where she got me. Sure as shit, it's a fungus. The impact of her nail either inserted some garbage or triggered my toe enough for whatever candida that's in my system to spread and multiply. I managed to cut the nail back and try to fix things, but it ain't happening.
Downside is that I JUST had that toenail removed the year prior and it was fully healed. So here I go again and boy is it going to suck.

Fuck this indeed
The needle pokes will suck the most, but I think what will suck more is my wife having to deal with walking the dogs for about a week or so (and we walk them 3-5 miles a day).
For some back story, if I'm sick for more than 3 days, she becomes an utter hell beast, because of all the shit she has to do. Granted, I don't bitch when she's sick. It's just funny when the roles are reversed in that particular instance.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/DHcSPLMSmgmGcPhU6Please let me know if the URL works. I'll upload some more photos to that album later tonight.
But, after a zillion pokes of lidocaine the doctor got to cutting. She showed me where the nail was ingrown on both sides, I had a thorn like nail in the central area of my toe and that apparently was the part that gave me a nice puss bubble.
I got my feet up, a gummy in me, and some Tylenol. No alcohol tonight. As I mentioned before, I'll upload the gross pictures tonight to the Google photo album I created.

When I was in my 20's, I tilted a 450 LB, 55 Gal drum on it's bottom edge to roll to a different location.
The momentum and mass just rolled the edge right over my big toe with no effort at all. Hurt like a mofo!!!
My toe nail turned black and blue and over the course of a few weeks, curled up and fell off.... wish I had pics to share with my eBros - we only had film cameras back then.

All pics are uploaded!
My doctor asked if I wanted to use a pill, but that they'd have to monitor my liver. I was like "naaaaaaaah!" I'm glad it worked for you though! That's a lot better than what I'm doing lol

me too!
It was funny.......I got the prescription from a dermatologist, and he said stop after 3 months.
I went to my GP, and he said no worries, take it for another month (no, he didn't look at the liver profiles....), so I did!

Man, that "after" pic hurts to look at!
And, BTW, count your blessings that it wasn't your smart toenail that had to be removed!

No kidding! Had it been my smart toenail, I'd definitely be in a world of hurt!
And yeah, it looks like he'll, but surprisingly it's just sore in all the areas where I got poked for the anesthesia.
