I'm not quite seeing the angle here, but regardless, the answer is no. AAMCO is a rip-off. Really expensive shop for no good reason.

Find a reputable local shop and deal with them.

We can fix it or at least diagnose it. What are the symptoms?

What if they weren't legally liable for any damage they did to your tranny?

One would think. But even that can be hard to find in some places. Ugh. Vehicle mojo sent.

If that’s real then just another reason to never.

Really makes one step back and think maybe it's not a good idea to blindly trust a shady company

It's one of the reasons I still love living a local's life here on my tiny island in a big bay.

Yeah I’m seeing a history of lawsuits and penalties for shady business practices.

Tranny repair are through the roof. It’s actually cheaper to buy a functioning used one than a rebuild. All of these places will nail you if they can. My advice is go to as many as possible for a quote and go with the best one. A mechanic that explains the situation and costs.
So this just happened to me… I’m preparing for a road trip and all of a sudden the manual tranny pops out of gear. It pops out of all gears fuuuuuu… so i get around and $4k was the quote for a rebuild. “ probably the brass synchronizers.” I say it only has 37k on it how can that be? Most places wanted to charge me 100 bucks to diagnose, uhh. So i get it home and go to the Toyota forum and hey this is a common thing ! Under the shifter is a rubber bushing that wears out .Took 15 min and 25 bucks to pop it out and done. My point is do your research before getting screwed. Good luck

The internet forums have saved people millions, at this point. Although, some dodgey YouTube videos that leave out time consuming steps have sure cost some people

This is so true and why this old forum thing will never die. You ain’t gonna find the kind of tranny info you are looking for on tik tok kids.
