Hey guys,

So as you know, I've been swimming in 2204 style amps here. I wanted to have them all together and see which one fit me best. I decided to keep the JEL modded one (which oddly enough, was the first one I bought ) and sell the others. I will post them on Reverb in a few days but I am giving first dibs to the GGF members.


Amp 1- JCA800 SOLD


Amp 2 - Ceriatone 2204 with 6550s and switchable Jose high gain mod and additional MV - SOLD


Amp 3- Stock Ceriatone 2204

This is a mostly stock 2204 with just one simple mod: the bright cap is in a push-pull knob in the preamp gain position. Pulled out= cap on , Pushed in= cap off. Completely stock otherwise. This one has the new Ceriatone buffered loop with an on/off switch.

That's it. Basically asking what I paid for them. PayPal gift or Venmo please. If you must pay regular Paypal add 3%. . All these amps have been tested at all volumes, bias checked and adjusted iif necessary and they're ready to go.

BTW - both those amps appear to have a floating ground (pots not grounded on their backsides)... just sayin'

How's the noise level on them?

What's the joke with the floating ground? Maybe I missed it

Very low noise on both amps even with the gain maxed out. With the Jose mod engaged there is more noise obviously, but still not bad.

When we were talking about the grounding on my 2204 build, you mentioned that I should probably just ground the backs of the posts as MojoTone prescribed and how Marshall used to do them. I decided to give this way a try, and glad to see that you've got amps without that old-style grounding that appear to be performing well. Wasn't jabbing at you - just pointing out that the updated way seems to work well
