China banned bitcoin and crypto last year. They know that people (and politicians) were using it to launder money and move cash out of the country.
With many nations trying to put pressure on Russia, the USA is taking a new look at crypto.
I would expect prices to plummet soon because, Europe will be looking into it as well....

You can't stop the signal.

Get off of Coinbase, and find a decentralized exchange where they don't need your SS#. Or, get a hardware wallet.

They don't want you to have it. That means, you should have it.

Not sure how it would just "go away". Every major company has invested BIG bucks into blockchain tech. It's here to stay. It just depends how you want to use it.

I always figured that, once the politicians were done moving their dirty money to the Cayman Islands, if they didn't shut crypto down, they'd at least regulate it more rigorously.

I can't predict it's future, but I always had misgivings about:

1. Oh, really, the gov't, with it's unequalled computing power and resources can't break the code to your account, if it wanted....
2. What good is it if I can't buy a quart of milk with it?

I wish I started buying Bitcoin back when I saw the hotdog vendor accepting it in 2016.

looking at most industrial economies, i'd say you'd do better investing in ball mason jars, farmland, and digging tools.

at least that's my plan.

I put $10 in litecoin like 5 years ago. Lost my ass on that when I remembered about it 6 months ago, and switched the $4.40 to bitcoin. Have continued to "lose my ass" since

Glad I'm only $10 deep in crypto :cop:

I played the crypto game for a few months. Made about $300 by tossing twenty into three different cryptos, selling when I saw a downturn, and buying back in when it started to uptick. It's a gambling game, but one you have to watch closely to actually make any money as the dumps are HUGE at times, and the climbs are slow and not always perfectly predictable.

It's one of the few times I tossed fun money at something that paid off a little. Not enough to keep playing the game, as I do better with actual stocks most of the time, but it was fun to fiddle with.

The attempted destruction of cash and crypto currencies is well under way to usher in central bank digital currencies as a “solution”.

CBDC’s, “public health” digital passports, ESG/Social credit scores, “smart cities”… these are key plays for the totalitarian psychopaths.

The threats that beset us are numerous and daunting.
