how would you describe the EMG 77's? I picked up a Les Paul with a 57/66 set in it and I'm not sure I'm liking then in it. I'll find out for sure when I play it through the live rig this weekend. I kina wanna try the 77's before i decide to rip out all the EMG wiring and go passive.

Hey Billy :) The bridge pickup sounds close to a DiMarzio Super Distortion. Strong mids and low end and a medium hot output. Neck pickup is more like a hot PAF tone. So if you ever played the original 70's DiMarzio super D/PAF set, it's very close to that. These pickups sound very close to passive pickups. They're still have some of the EMG character in terms of clarity, no hum etc, but I'd say they're 90% passive.

I had them in my Eclipse and it completely removed the need to switch to passives. I sold the guitar so I put the stock 81/60 back in before selling it.

Bumping this. Several pickups were sold but I still have several available.

I am looking for a black Seymour Duncan Custom 5. If you have one and want any of this pickups on a straight trade (add cash for the EMG set only), let me know.
