Just bought on Rig Talk. Works great but doesn't do the 4CM like I thought.

Will trade for NS2, Partial trade towards Decimator 2 G string or maybe an OD pedal.

Will sell for what I paid $60 shipped.

hmmm - seems like it should work in 4CM if you have pedals in your loop on the amp - but I could be wrong.
Did you mess with the internal switch to change the loop function?

the manual is pretty short - MXR Noise Clamp manual

How does it not do 4CM as it seems that's the entire reason to have a send/return on a pedal like this? I mean, I've heard other pedals fucking this up, but it seems completely bizarre to me that more than one or two companies would fuck up something so simple. Does the gate only work on the send side and not the return side? Cause that would piss me off to no end as it would effectively mean the return->output just as well be another cable.

Maybe it should have two trigger knobs, one for the amp input and one for the fx loop?

The send/return is it's own loop. Designed to connect your pedals through and eliminate any extra noise the pedals produce.

As far as delay in the loop I have no clue because I don't have any delays or anything. It does not remove the amp hiss and that is what I was looking for.

I tested it with an OD in the loop because that's the only pedal type I have and it didnt kill the hiss.

Maybe ill test that again to double check but ehh..I don't think this is the pedal I was looking for.

It does however kill the feedback in front extremely well and tbh maybe one of the best I've tried regarding decay and tone loss.

I could technically run a separate supressor for the amp fx loop but id rather just have 1 pedal to do it all.

You don’t need to have a pedal in the amp loop to make 4CM work with a gate that has its own send/return. The NS-2 will do the same thing. It’s in to the front of the gate, send from the gate to the front of the amp, amp sent to the return of the gate, out of the gate to the amp return. That should clamp the amp noise based on the guitar input. If you did have a delay, you could put it after the gate before the amp return to include tails without hating them.

If I didn’t understand you right and this is what you did, forgive me. I’m half lit and typing on my dumbass phone.

Lol yeah, I was just saying if for some reason you NEED a pedal in the loop for it to work, I tried that with my OF and it didnt help.

This pedal does nothing for the amps FX loop.

Ill double check but ive connected it every way imaginable.

That sucks, man. PM me an address and I’ll send you one of my NS2s to try. Pop a fresh 9 volt in it and it’ll be golden. Power supplies are iffy depending on house power. Lemme know, man. I can give one up for a month or two.

It's very strange because I'm sure my buddy does 4CM with his.

At any rate, PM me your PayPal address and I'll buy it from you. :thu:

Maybe user error, idk. I hooked it up every way imaginable.

Is a shame because I really did like everything else about it.

Too late now, but there is an internal switch to change the way the loop operates. One setting is controlled by the footswitch which bypasses the loop. The other setting should work like an NS2.

It didnt.

Always the chance my FX loop is broken.
