David Ellefson is no longer a member of Megadeth, according to the statement released by Mave and the band’s management. No official reason for the split has been given, but a strained relationship was acknowledged.

Not surprised. Yikes. Blabbermouth posted a "How I got the Megadeth gig" article on James Lomenzo like 2 days after that all dropped.

Uh, yeah. He yankeed his junior on camera and it got uploaded to the internetwebz for the whole world to see. Not a good look for a pastor.

But being booted was pretty much a given after that little snafu.

Weird thing is he has been doing all his own hawking of stuff since he got back into Megadeth as an employee only. That covers record here in the last year or whatever with the Def Leppard ripoff cover art and that BEYOND ATROCIOUS "singer"/business partner was just beyond horrible.

I do have to say I find it utterly hilarious that rock and roll is filled with douchebags popping underage girls and bragging about it. And here we are, dude whacks it virtually with a legal age chick that asked to watch and he's being decried as a monster.

we'll have to see how it shakes out but it seems here the band leader took an opportunity to make a move . Rock musicians and " rape" are almost hand in hand . Pick one ... None of them would be innocent if the meetoos come after them .

it's super shitty if the band is going after him like that . The woman has already confirmed she is an adult . TMZ reported but who fucking knows . But if it's smear and sabotage it's so low class it's off the charts . Now if it were true it makes sense , what else could they do but get clear ??? A couple things on this. Yeah the life style was definitely different in the 80s. Times are different now. The girl is of age - ok. She's 19, able to consent. He's 56. That's a hell of an age difference and it doesn't look good. It's been rumored that Junior and the girl were in contact longer than this and before she turned 18. While she says it was her own choice to do this after she was old enough to consent and what not, from outside in, it could look like grooming. And yeah, the video calls, not a good idea. Especially since she decided to show them to a friend who then blew them up on the internet. Times have changed. It's definitely not a good look given that he's been married for a long time and is also a pastor (which to me makes this almost comical). Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

As for him being canned, like it or not, Megadeth is a business. They're getting ready to drop a new album, they have a tour lined up and they have employees that work for them on said tour (not just the band, but road crews, techs, etc.). Mave himself has a brand new endorsement deal with Gibson and Kramer guitars, among other things. And like it or not, cancel culture has become huge and can impact musicians and artists just as easily as anyone. I imagine Dave, Kiko and Dirk would like to work and tour and make some money after being off for a year. And maybe it could have blown over, but Mave decided to be proactive on it. So good for him. Maybe they can get James Lomenzo to come back for the tour. He did pretty well with them anytime I saw them play.

I thought he cheated on his wife and was being cancelled for it which IMO while not cool to cheat, it would be shitty to be fired for that and nobody's business tbh.

It’s not so much that he’s being cancelled or anyone is, but I understand why Mave would want to get ahead of it before it escalates to that level. Which it could. Who knows?

Jr sued Mave a while back and lost . Then let him back into the band . Interesting history they have .

What continent was she from? Was she Youthanasia? Those comments are all Cryptic Writings, and the band didn’t want to take the Risk of her being Th1rt3en.
