Again, perhaps a long shot on this forum, but a couple budget friendly 500 series preamps. Black Lion Audio is a Chicago company which is why I went with them as they are local. Nothing cheap about their sound or design. The b12a is their take on an API style preamp. BIG and aggressive sound. Great on guitar mics, especially heavier or more in your face styles/sound,and a must for drums!

The Auteur is their all around style pre and it hits WELL above its price range, and my expectation, tbh. I used these to record my last album and when it came to my dual mic technique on my cab using these 2 pres in conjunction was the magic ticket! PICS coming soon..

hrm. let me give some thinking to this. i'm not really in a financial position to jump right just yet-- but that's a great deal on all that biz, let it be said. lemme also holler at a buddy of mine who's got a box that he's fillin' up and see if he needs anything too!

Mono. I believe only the stand alone, non 500 versions, are stereo
