i wanna browse these boards like a boss @ 100 posts per page.
can we make this happen billy?
20 posts per page takes too long to switch from page to page, especially if trying to look back and refer to a previous post.

no on other boards I frequent, there is a setting you can change in the forum display options that dictates 20/50/100 posts per page.

Most of those are probably vBulletin...this is phpBB...A few less options, but also free for the host (billy)

Billy offers a FTP patch that will fix this. It's not very expensive

It's a global setting but it doesn't have to be 20 per page. Perhaps we should run a poll and see what the forum wants?

A poll would work...
Just think about the bandwidth though, for some users, if they have a slow connection, and you choose 75 or 100, it will take forever for a page to load...even more if the thread is loaded with pictures. That could run off some users.
Just a thought.

Sorry for you dial up users...upgrade.
Hopefully, this forum will load faster than that other forum you used to spend a lot of time on.

50 is better...but 100 is more betterer.

Not talking about me...but people who live in rural america don't have access to "upgrade" all the time...Trust me...when I moved here I didn't have anything other than mobile internet...finally got DSL about a year after I moved...and trust me it sucked...
Was just saying it's nice to think of all users.....

rural users have access to high speed satellite internet now. If you can see the sky, you can get broadband. i've got a few friends out in the country where the only option for TV/internet is dish and they say their internet is actually pretty fast unless it's bad weather.
I vote 50.

not all mobile providers have high speed in all areas either. if people post from their phones on the go a lot, that would kill people. have you tried browsing the internet on edge network lately?
and why do posts auto quote everything quoted in teh quoted post if we can only quote a maximum of 3 times?
