NFL Conference Championship thread...

Who ya got?
I want the Falcons and Patriots.
Falcons because I want to see Tony Gonzalez retire with a ring. As a Chiefs fan, it's hard to not pull for that guy. Dude is classy as they come, and deserves this.
Patriots because one more ring will make Brady undeniably better than Fivehead manning, and arguably the greatest of all time.

I'm rooting for the Niners. Great game thus far.

I watch the playoffs and laugh at the few moronic Bears fans who thought "Oh, if we only got in we could make a run." ROFLMAO!
Pretty crazy game. I'm hoping for a Niner's/Patriots SB. But I'm not really invested in any team.

I gotta go for Baltimore - if Den for a Scum isn't behind a man charged with murder - who is going to be????
and said in week 8 or 9 that Atlanta was the worst 8-0 team in NFL history - and am still amazed that they are in the NFC championship game.
no love for the patriots here either.......

Kapernick looked a bit frazzled. Like he was getting rattled by the moment.
The Falcons, once again, choked.

The 49ers are ridiculous...If their offense falters, their defense steps up. The definition of complementary football...Whoever advances from the AFC is going to have a tough game ahead of them...

Kapernick came through though. The Falcons aren't as well coached as the Niners. Not saying their coaches are bad, but I just don't think they are as good as the Niner's coaches.
Quite the game. Looking forward to this night game.

Was rooting for ATL only because one of my best friends is a Falcons fan and for Tony G. Not surprised 49ers won though. ATL just gave up the booty.
And as you can see in my avatar not a fan of either AFC. Team that knocked us out from last years playoffs vs the team this year do they can both go fuck themselves. Slightly rooting for Ray Lewis though.

Was hoping you'd make it over here! I wonder if Repner made it yet, he's a Steelers fan and is always in on football discussion too!
Ray Lewis is a felon who got off easy...Popularity makes it easy to get out of trouble. That said, he HAS done a lot of good and changed his ways, and there's no questioning his legacy...I just have a grudge against him for some reason...

Possibly because he knows who killed those people and refuses to tell and has "made his peace with it." Nice Ray. How about the families of those who were killed?
Bah, dude's been a hell of a player and I totally respect that. Just save the "Jesus is my life" BS.
Holy crap the Patriots forced a TO on the Ravens already!

I think I was one of the first few here I think. Just waited for everyone else to migrate I guess. And I'm in on every sport talk. Excited that golf has started to....
I understand the Ray Lewis hate though. My view of him is only of the past 5 years so that's why. Didn't follow or watch football prior to that. Was baseball all the way including in 2001.

Golf? GOLF? If there was ever a sport built for the highlight segment, it was golf.

Ravens just don't seem quite up to the same caliber as the Pats.
How bad must CBS' color commentators be if Phil Simms is their #1. I don't even know what he's saying 1/3 of the time. If you're on twitter you should follow philsimmsqoutes, its hilarious seeing them captured for posterity.

I could be wrong, apparently you just give the ball to Ray Rice every play and throw on occasion. The Pats are getting NO pressure on Flacco.

When phil was just starting out, theismann (who i cant stand as a commentator) hammered phil mercilessly for this stuff. very funny, but i felt kinda sorry for simms. simms did improve somewhat for a while, but i dont think he's working as hard anymore.

Theismann is awful as well and often comes across as a complete douche. Simms used to be decent, but the last few years its just painful. With all the CTE induced issues, you almost have to wonder if the complete mental lapses aren't organic in cause.
In a way I hope not, cause that'd be bad, but I also hope he isn't THIS lazy in working on his craft.

Start at 1:30...see that tree on the right? The hole is literally to the right of that tree...At 2:06, see that green stand? He is behind that...Look at where he is aimed at when he hits the ball, and understand the path that ball has to take to land where it does...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9UgFwmxfVAI mean, I know golf isn't for everyone, but that is one of the greatest golf shots you will ever see...amateurs get that kind of hook because of bad shots, pros have control over that shot, consistently...That's impressive. And to be honest, most pros wouldn't attempt that either. Bubba Watson is the OchoCinco of golf...He's crazy, and has never had a lesson in his life, self taught, doesn't care what people think of him or how he plays the game...They call it "bubba golf"...he also has a very unconventional swing, uses a solid pink driver (for cancer, but still) and has come across as a hotheaded asshole more than once

I'm not knocking their skill KCTC. Its just boring as fuck to me. That highlight awesome. Crammed into 4 hours of JACK SHIT going on.

THIS is why you should be following philsimmsquotes on twitter:
Phil Simms Quotes @philsimmsquotes
If you didn't pass out after "English With Shannon Sharpe," the second half is about to start. Sorry? #BALvsNE #PSQ
The game was take a drink after every word you don't understand from Shannon Sharpe.

I know you weren't knocking the skill bro. And like I said, I know it isn't for everyone. It's one of those things that if you don't play, it's hard to watch. I HATED seeing golf on TV, until I started playing and really understood what it took to be that good

It's fun to watch, and the period between football and baseball season I watch golf on sundays now...College BBall if it's on, but I hate the NBA with a passion so I ignore that.

Like, I can't STAND soccer...I think it is about as boring as it gets...same goes with hockey...But I never liked playing soccer growing up, bored me, and hockey is soccer on ice...So i get where you're coming from
