SOLD: 100W Super Bass Clone (Metropoulos / Valvestorm)
Posted: Sun May 20, 2018 10:09 am
I bought this awhile back and it has served me very well. Unfortunately, I'm not really playing it anymore, so I'm moving it on. The original listing info is below. I added some mustards, NOS tone caps, and a Merren OT. If you want the original Metro spec OT as well, we can work something out as I still have it. I also added the EVH bypass cap, which I can easily remove, or you can clip it out. I have all the original parts too if you'd like them. First pics are before the NOS upgrades and last pic is after. I do have the back panel of course, and it is mint as well. I never used it. I have a Marshall badge as well if you want it. No holes were drilled in the headshell either.
As posted by the original owner:
Description: For your consideration a “MetroAmp” 1969 Super Bass built by Robert Watson at ValveStorm. Metropoulos stopped selling the MetroAmp kits in 2010, but ValveStorm has an agreement to sell MetroAmp parts. So, it isn’t really a MetroAmp, because it didn’t come from one of the original kits, but it uses the same components. I even attached a NOS MetroAmp badge to pay homage, but if you do not like it, it can be removed without leaving a mark.
Specs: 1969 specs, steel chassis (just like a real 69 plexi), Metropoulos/Heyboer PT and OT, Mercury Magnetics choke, Sozo NexGen coupling caps, F&T filter caps, Lar/Mar PPIMV w/ PEC pot (master volume), “pull bright” switch on Volume I control (100pF), “Virtual Variac” mode on the Standby switch (up = normal, down = brown), holes pre-drilled in chassis for all future mods (including effects loop, two additional jacks/pots, and four mini switches).
Price: $1350 (OBO) via PayPal will include shipping to anywhere in the continental U.S. Your new amp will be fully insured and shipped. FYI: the parts alone are worth way more than $1350 without shipping
