BOTR 2018 Rules and Discussion Thread

Well, well, well. It's that time again!!! . These are the rules:
Please post pictures of your rig ready to go, wired up, passing signal. This is not a "gear collection" contest. It's all about the RIG.
Maximum of 2 guitars in the rig picture. For the same reason as above.
Pictures used on previous BOTRs will not be allowed. Please take a new picture for this contest
You can enter multiple categories if you have different rigs. But only one entry per category is allowed. For example if you have a combo and a 1/2 stack you can enter both categories. If you have 2 half-stacks, pick your best one and enter once in that category.
The post threads will be open Monday May 14 until Monday May 21 12PM PST. After that point Billy or I will lock the post threads and create voting polls.
Voting starts on the 21st and goes until Saturday May 26th 12PM PST. 5 days should be enough for voting.
The winners of each category will then compete for "Best Overall Rig of 2018" From
May 28th to June 3rd.WE HAVE PRIZESIndividual Category winners will receive a pack of ThroBak Vintage Choice Pure Nickel Round Core Electric Guitar Strings in gauges 10-46.
Grand Prize is TBD at this point.
Contest is open to all GAB members with 10 posts or more.
Creating alts for voting purposes will automatically disqualify you, not to mention you will also get some days off.

Inviting new members to join and vote is not only allowed, it is encouraged! Help spread the word about GAB.
Finally, please
keep the post threads for gear pictures only and take all the discussion to this thread. That will keep things easier.
Thanks!!!!!!!!
EDIT: I will not be in town or near a computer until Monday, so I'll set up the overall poll and thread then.

seconded, thanks GM!!!
I'll post pics of my rig tomorrow, was gonna try the poverty section but since my new guitar doubled the cost of my rig, I can't anymore. Will participate in the combo rig instead.

Diocide, I love how half of your board is all stuff you built. That's pretty damn awesome.
I'm gonna try to get mine set up tonight. I should have rigs for head/cab, combo, budget and large pedalboard. Just wanna take some new pics first

Hey guys, try to keep all discussion posts in this thread here. I know EVERYONE is gonna post some sweet rigs worth talking about, but we wanna keep the talk to one place so it's easier to count up entrants for voting when done.

Same here, the whole Krogh rig looks great!
I have to admit Marc and GM have set the bar quite high with these first entries

Why thank you sir! I’m looking forward to see what everyone puts together. That Astoria is no slouch. And Neil ‘s JVM combo rig is quite awesome in its own right.

haha.. thanks... like I said earlier he's a local builder and repair guy here in Trinidad.... both amps and guitars/basses... so it's really not that surprising no one has heard of him outside of Trinidad.
this is his Facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/Jonathan-Krogh ... 011963275/so really cool shit there, and I still think it's not quite up to date...

This is probably for me. My bad. I just thought Kurdula's rig pic with Draelyc in the background was worthy of comment.

Dude nothing to apologize for. I just moved your post over to this thread. And honestly I don’t fault the comment.

Was scrolling down his FB page, his build and repair work is looks indeed great as well, he seems to be a multi talented guy. Cool to have such options locally. Even if he is the only builder in Trinidad, the custom builder per inhabitant ratio is still top notch

Yes, looking forward as well and no doubts regarding Neil's JVM, if I recall correctly I voted last year for his rig

Btw in the head/cab thread I’m noticing a ton of Marshall and Marshall-style amps so far (not sure if the Krogh is Marshall style or not). Not a bad thing.

haha.. yeah, he does some amazing work, the condition that ES-345 was in when he got it, it was basically fire wood, now it's one of the most amazing guitars I've ever played. He's also the one who restored my 1968 Fender TElecaster Bass, that too was a total cluster fuck......the best part is that helps that we grew up together so I get some solid deals and I'm able to convince him to try different things he wouldn't ordinarily do on builds...

It most definitely is Marshall based

It's basically a Plexi that's internally jumped
