Friend of mine recently mentioned on Facebook he's about to be starting a new recording project for which he'll be exclusively using a Fender Super Sonic 22. Basterd reminded me how much I dug the combo I tried in a local shop last year. And now I'm thinking that little combo would be a great complement to my Plexi 1/8 stack.
But see ... I still has no gear monies.
Why, GAS? Why u no leab me lone?!?

How are the Super Sonics? There's a blonde 60 watt combo near by I'd been meaning to check out. Our band is looking at getting smaller combos for the road so we have less to bring out

I haven't played a 60 watter ~ I think Dave/Ron Burgandy//Chuck Nutz has. The 22 watters are SWEET. Exactly as advertized: rich Fender cleans (two different flavors) and a helluva gain channel that makes me think vintage Marshall.

Ugghh, great. Haha. Tbh, the GC by me has a few used combos I want to check out. A crate vintage club 30 for cheap is #1 on my list. The Super Sonic looks awesome but is twice as much

The Crate VC 30 ( I had one the American made 3112s) is a grate lil' amp. Not as good as the Super Sonic ~ but there's your price difference, natch.

I'd say the Fender is honestly probably worth about twice as much as the Crate, in terms of tone, fwiw.

I love those pgs videos. Andy made that amp sound awesome. I think reading this thread gave me GAS.

Sounds great
You go through a lot of amps. Ever think about an awesome clean fender and pedals?

Tbh, if I were going to run like that, I'd use the Plexi for it. Hands down, the best cleans & best pedal platform I've yet played through, and I have run my pedalboard into my drummer's Twin Reverb RI a few times to compare.
Kidding aside, the Plexi has cured most of my GAS. It's just dangerous when I have time to sit around *thinking*, because I start thinking things like "Gee, a nice 22 watt combo would be cool to have for whenever I don't want to lug the big rig..."
And thus it begins...
