BTOR 2017 Rules and Discussion Thread

Well, well, well. It's that time again!!! . These are the rules:

Please post pictures of your rig ready to go, wired up, passing signal. This is not a "gear collection" contest. It's all about the RIG.
Maximum of 2 guitars in the rig picture. For the same reason as above.
Pictures used on previous BOTRs will not be allowed. Please take a new picture for this contest
You can enter multiple categories if you have different rigs. But only one entry per category is allowed. For example if you have a combo and a 1/2 stack you can enter both categories. If you have 2 half-stacks, pick your best one and enter once in that category.
The post threads will be open until Friday May 26 12PM PST. After that point I will lock the post threads and create voting polls.
Voting starts on the 26th and goes until Wednesday May 31st 5PM PST. 5 days should be enough for voting.
The winners of each category will then compete for "Best Overall Rig of 2017" From May 31st to June 6th.

We have prizes!!

Each category winner is getting a pack of Dunlop 10's.

FINAL WINNER IS GETTING A SET OF BALAGUER EVERGREEN HUMBUCKERS.

Contest is open to all GAB members with 10 posts or more.
Creating alts for voting purposes will automatically disqualify you, not to mention you will also get some days off.
Inviting new members to join and vote is not only allowed, it is encouraged! Help spread the word about GAB.

Finally, please keep the post threads for gear pictures only and take all the discussion to this thread. That will keep things easier.

Thanks!!!!!!!!

Billy

I have two complete head/cab rigs and enough guitars to make them totally separate. Will there be a oddball rig category so I can get both into the show? With Dave's wicker MarkII, there is zero point in me putting the Mark back into the combo for fashion

Also, can we post clips of our rigs as constituted in the photo's to help make the case?

Not sure I will. But it would be a nice curve to throw in there.

Well, I guess in the case of my Kustom 2x12 Tuck&Roll, it would be more of a Ugly/Poverty Rig category

Even though it has Creamback's and sounds stellar.

When I stick a MarkIII Head on top of it and a LPC next to it, I'm not so sure

I'll throw my $20 SD-1 on the floor in front of it :idk:

question - say you were to win the pedalboard category - can you post a new pic of your full rig for the final showdown?
a pedalboard alone is not going to win overall?

I hereby motion to bar Mamberg from BOTR participation pending clip of him playing guitar.

Shit has a limit.

Honestly I'd be curious what kind of bass rigs would get presented if there would be a category.

I could enter the poverty category with my bass rig though :hmm:

some "bass amps" are in fact better guitar amps. I am willing to find out , I'll volunteer to play a bass through all of GABer rigs to get to the best bass amp . Which they all are .. just some better than others ... in the spirit of a proper mamberg'n we won't record that

Oh yeah! My poverty rig is using a bass cab. Sounds fucking teets. A shit ton of guitar players use bass rigs.
