Went from this:

To this:

Cream coloured pickup rings and switch cover, tophat knobs instead of the black speed knobs.

Electronically I disconnected the pickup selector since I have never been able to really get used to it's location.

Took out one set of control knobs and replaced them with two switches - the upper one is now the pickup selector and the lower is a killswitch.

so 1 volume, 1 tone?

how is the balance between the pick ups?
I always seem to run the neck lower on the volume control than the bridge.

Yeah 1 vol 1 tone.

The pickups seem pretty well balanced (498T/490R) - I'd agree with you that the neck pup has more roar to it, but it doesn't really translate into a volume difference, and in any case I don't run both pups at the same time, and I don't switch mid-song, so it's not really an issue.
