Fugue 2 from Bach's Well Tempered Clavier performed on an Agile Renaissance 8-string acoustic with flat-wounds.
Mic'd with MXL 551 and a cloned Neumann U67 in mid-side configuration into an RME Fireface 400.

Thanks for listening and the comments! There are a few spots where parts didn't balance as well as I would have liked. I need to invest in some real monitors at some point.

Nicely done! I really enjoy hearing this style of music, especially on what I tend to think as a more rock oriented forum. Thanks for the cool tune!! Was that Agile acoustic a custom made one or do they normally make that style of acoustic guitar?

I'm glad you dig it. I've been working on being a more versatile reader. Playing 4-part keyboard music on guitar (one voice at a time) seemed like a good way to go.
When I went exclusively to 8-strings 2 years ago, I figured I needed to grab an acoustic as well. It's an off-the-shelf 8-string acoustic that they started making a year or two ago. The neck profile feels 95% the same as my Carvin DC800's. Apparently, they are making them in multiscale now, as well as nylon string, small-bodied classical. I replaced the nut and saddle with GraphTech TUSQ bits and put flat wound strings on it.
