MLS anyone?

My bro got the MLS season pass-y thing, so we sat down and watched two games yesterday (Sounders v. Impact, Timbers v. Red Bulls).

Turns out, I like soccer. This is going to be a regular thing.

Go figure.

It's difficult for me to watch MLS. Premier League, International, Spanish League are all entertaining, but MLS kinda bores me. I do watch occasionally though.

I'd rather watch the Premier league etc. But the MLS is pretty cool. The names of the teams in the MLS are VERY American lol - no shit Sherlock. The football in the premiership at the moment is top class. Also, it was great seeing spurs beat inter 3-0.

Oh, I'm sure the MLS isn't fully on par with the rest of the football leagues, but I don't mind for two reasons. Firstly, MLS is still very new, compared to MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, and so forth. It's still growing in ways the other leagues already have. Secondly, it's conceptually a lot easier to root for the Sounders or Timbers than it is, say, Barcelona.

You're definitely right about that. I hope the MLS continues to grow, so that it could be on par with some of the other leagues. Like I said, I still do watch MLS occasionally, but it's difficult to go from watching something like a Man U or Liverpool game to watching a Real Salt Lake game. Coincidentally, I hate that they named the team, Real Salt Lake.

Well, with the fake Salt Lake causing so many problems, they needed to make sure people knew the difference.

I'd like to get up to a Chicago Fire game (match?) I don't know crap about soccer, but I've watched it here and there and enjoyed it. I just don't know a ton about it.

I live in SLC, I'm a fan, I hate the name. Honestly, it's so cheesy and bush league that they copped European names for all their teams: United, Real, Dynamo, etc. It's like my son's little league team calling themselves the Yankees: cute, but hard to take seriously.
