How do I make a seagull fx? Got it w/pics & video!

I like the David Gilmour seagull effect but it is a pita to use a backwards wah or run the cables backwards so I want to make a dedicated box to do it with the jacks in the normal locations. There's a pedal called a Gullmour that's like this and some people on youtube have built them but nobody ever says how they made it and googling DIY ideas comes up blank.
I'm thinking: gut my Cry Baby, get a single coil pickup and a tone and volume pot (all of which I already have), buy an enclosure from Pedal Parts Plus to put all of it in, set and forget the wah pot and use the volume and tone pots manually to control the effect.
I'm sure my idea would work since it is basically just rehousing a wah and stripping a Strat down to a pickup and 2 pots but is an entire wah pcb necessary? I'm trying to think of the minimum amount of circuitry and parts possible to keep the size small.
