Z Vex Fuzz Factory----YIKES
I was very optimistic getting the pedal. Out of the box, it was pretty cool, but live situations it was a mess. Crazy, don't breath on it the wrong way....out of control is easy. I could find some cool tones, but it was just too scary live

^ lol
Definitely not for everybody or every situation, but it is legendary for a reason or ten. It basically started the whole circuitbent fuzz revolution. It's a great studio tool, and it's most fun for wild noise freakouts, on a tabletop or up on top of your amp, somewhere you can easily reach to tweak it and freak it while you play. Oscillations/rabid cat growls/drunken robot squeals/etc.

I loved to run drum loops thru it

I only used one once, I was at a studio and we were getting some sounds. I was aiming for a classic rock crunch kinda thing and the engineer pulled a fuzz factory out of the cupboard and goes "try THIS!". So on it went, scratchy horror ensued and thirty seconds later it was relegated back to the cupboard. Guess I'd need to spend a bit of time with one.
