A while back, I was connecting my POD to my computer, and my hand slipped and I plugged the USB cable into the pedal port. After that, my PODxt will do this every time I power it up.
It works for a few seconds, then crashes. If I turn it back on immediately, it stays frozen like this, but if I give it a while it'll function again for a few seconds, then crash again.

I've looked around on the board, and I don't think any of the caps or resistors look blown.

These are shots around the USB and pedal ports, and the power supply. I'm assuming anything affecting functions would be in that general area.

Have you tried to reload the flash memory? That would be the first thing to try I think.... most likely it's a software issue....

That's where I would start. Listen to Billy - he knows his Line6.

and... ultimately if it's not working anymore it might be easier to just get another one used. They're everywhere and cheap.

I think reloading the flash memory involves hooking it up to a computer...and I can't get it to read long enough for that to work. If I remember right from when I tried it.

I'm not too worried about replacing it (My bassist has been lending me a Zoom G5 for practice and such. This would just be kinda nice to have at home for jamming purposes, rather than hauling my Mrak back home every practice or running a Metal Zone into my PA)
It's mostly a project and an excuse to solder if it comes to that.
