Any good, free (or cheap) IRs?

I've been using the RedWire Big Box greenback cab as my main IR and I like it a lot but sometimes I need something more modern/aggressive... any good IRs out there that would work with the DSL for a more modern tone?

I need to get in on these IR's and whatnot. I don't even know how to launch them in my Reaper DAW...

I like the Catharsis ones quite a bit - most aggressive ones I've found so far and they are free

Billy I have literally THOUSANDS of them I can get you. For Cheap and good, grab the ReCabinet 4 plug-in.

Billy, check out the 7 Deadly Sins pack. Can find it with a Google search....the Catharsis ones are in there plus a ton more. Good stuff.
If you just want one or two, The Amp Factory does good stuff for like $5 apiece, and the Rosen stuff is badass too.

Have you tried making your own? I was quite pleased with how mine turned out, plus they are of your cabs.

Finally was able to get LePou amp sims working in Reaper, but apparently I need to get IR set up to make it sound right. Do I need to do anything special other than just add it as an effect, like chain one into the other?
Also, any chance of getting in on the PM trail?

I spent a
lot of time with it last week but this weekend had the gf over and been doing yard work and stuff. Now, taking a break, having a few beers and chillaxin' wit the hommies.

Cool - I've got a bunch of time this week, so plan to spend at least some of that playing with this stuff, along with trying out 4cm with my Marshall & POD HD500X

Did you find a link to the 7 deadly sins IRs? If not, I have the zip file that I can try to send you. PM me your email if interested.

I hunted around this morning and found a few, including that one. Is that a good one for rock / hard rock styles, or just for more modern stuff?

There's a little bit of everything in there, including odd stuff like computer speaker monitor and voxengo irs. I'm more into odd sounding stuff, so I really haven't made an effort to find rock/hard rock style irs. Maybe others could give you some recommendations. Good luck!

Thanks for the help, man!
Gonna try the greenback one that Billy mentioned at the start of the thread. I really like his tone, so it's a good place for me to start.

You need a Cab IR Loader VST. I use keFIR. It is free and dead easy to use. Load your LePou sim, then load keFIR after it in the signal chain (like going from a head to a cab) and load the cab IR of your choice by clicking on Load and selecting a cab IR from your IR folder. Turn the Mix to 100% and rock out. Here's a quick blurb about it with a download link:
