Auditioned a singer last night.......clip attached

Started a little cover band for kicks with some homies. One of the guys found a singer on craigslist, who claimed to be in a lot of bands with a great "rock voice". So we hit him up on Monday, gave him a list or 8-9 songs that we were planning on jamming. Fast forward to last night, he showed up, and hadn't learned the lyrics to ANY of the songs. We ended up learning some songs on the fly that he claimed to know (some Jonny Cash tunes... amongst others), that he ended up NOT knowing the lyrics to. I was pretty much laughing my balls off the whole time, but it was a pretty irritating ordeal. At the end of the jam sesh, he said "Oh, I know that sublime song santeria". I was like "oh okay.. I think I know that", and I pretended I got a text message so I could record it .

LOL!!! WTF is it with people on craigslist. We had the exact same thing happen to us when we just auditioned a singer. Dude is telling us he can pull off the material exactly and well, here were the results.....

He was one of the better ones. Some of the other singers sounded like bad auditions from American Idol. Hard as hell to find a decent singer.

I've heard several versions even worse than this. I'm at the point when a band starts in on this one, I either go to the bathroom or just leave the bar altogether.
