Been rediscovering bands of old as of late, and one of the bands that I was meaning to check out was Yes. I listened to Fragile for the first time when I went back to the Philippines back in '09 on Asiana Airlines' music menu, and I must say that album impressed me.

Just wanted to hear more opinion about them through you guys.

Get Close to the Edge for sure. Easily my favorite album of theirs. The Yes Album is pretty good too. Bill Bruford is one of my favorite drummers, and I'm a big fan of Steve Howe too. Be sure to check out the early Genesis stuff too, particularly Selling England by the Pound and The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. I'm a big fan of the prog from that era.

Pretty much everything from The Yes Album to Going For The One and Drama. I haven't heard Tormato, but from what I've seen, people generally ignore that one (including the band).

My first real concert was the 90125 tour. Yes, it is popier than the earlier stuff but it still kicks major ass. Chris Squier is a god among men.

Brophus: King Crimson and early Genesis is underway. Never I would imagine liking prog rock, but I guess when you get older, you get wiser. And a lot of these 60's/70's bands I've only recently "getting it", which is weird how the youth back then already "gets it".

I have been a prog guy since day one. First album I ever bought was Rush Moving Pictures and the second was Yes Fragile. No wonder I am a bass player.

Yarb and Brophus: Rush is also underway! I've only heard one album by ELP, I don't know the album, it was a copy via a cassette, but the stuff is good! A regular customer also suggested Jethro Tull, she said I would dig it!

Keep those recommendations bros! My Yes playlist is playing, and I'm digging it so far.

I got really into this album a few years back. It's a relatively modern prog band.

Lots of great modern prog bands, too. Some more metal than others:

Anubis Gate
Redemption
Tesseract
Karnivool
Coheed and Cambria

Soft Machine had some cool chit too. Much more fusion-y.

Tago Mago and Ege Bamyasi by Can are both cool but definitely a bit out there. Almost completely improvised from what I understand.

Anekdoten is another modern prog band that I like.

Obviously, Porcupine Tree and The Mars Volta should be given a listen to.

How could I forget them!

Voyage of the Acolyte and Spectral Mornings by Steve Hackett are both great. (Steve Hackett was the lead guitarist for early Genesis if you ain't know).

Guapo's trilogy of albums, Black Oni, Five Suns and Elixirs are all great. Very King Crimson-like at times.

Perils by Miasma & the Carousel of Headless Horses is pretty good. A little one-dimensional maybe, but pretty unique.

Aquarius and Visions by Haken

I remember liking some stuff by Captain Beyond and by Uriah Heep but I can't remember what it was. Never got around to owning any of it.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect too many Magma fans to be around these parts. Or too many fans of a lot of the prog stuff that I listen to for that matter. Good to know that there is someone who's down with all this weird shit. If you haven't heard that Hypnos 69 album that I posted, you should definitely check it out.

So far, I'm digging it bros! I've only heard up to Going For The One, and I'm digging that album aside from Fragile.

I'm still pissed that my copy of Power and the Glory vanished. Everything else, barring Univers Zero who I haven't heard of, on that list is fantastic (Although I have to be in the right frame of mind for Magma.)
