BOTR 2015: Rules and official discussion thread

Alright guys let's get this going. These are the rules:

  • Please post pictures of your rig ready to go, wired up, passing signal. This is not a "gear collection" contest. It's all about the RIG.
  • Maximum of 2 guitars in the rig picture. For the same reason as above.
  • You can enter multiple categories if you have different rigs. But only one entry per category is allowed. For example if you have a combo and a 1/2 stack you can enter both categories. If you have 2 half-stacks, pick your best one and enter once in that category.
  • The post threads will be open until Friday April 24th 12PM PST. (extended to Saturday April 25th 12PM PST) After that point I will lock the post threads and create voting polls.
  • Voting starts on 24th Apr and goes until Wednesday April 29th. 5 days should be enough for voting.
  • The winners of each category will then compete for "Best Overall Rig of 2015" From April 29th to May 3rd.
  • We have prizes!! each category winner is getting a a pack of Dunlop 10's. Overall winner prize is my personal TC HOF mini.
  • Contest is open to all GAB members with 10 posts or more.
  • Creating alts for voting purposes will automatically disqualify you, not to mention you will also get some days off.
  • Inviting new members to join and vote is not only allowed, it is encouraged! Help spread the word about GAB.

Finally, please try to keep the post threads for gear pictures only and take all the discussion to this thread. That will keep things easier.

Thanks!!!!!!!!

Billy

Nice! Is it "off base" that part of my modeling rig is also my home studio or is that ok?

I don't see an issue with that.... modeling rig is guitar, modeler, cabs etc... while the studio is modelr computer, preamps, studio monitors etc... not the same thing.

I don't read threads, I just respond to them with whatever is in my head at that moment.

My name is Mike.

Wonder if the budget rig has to reflect mrp, shop prices, street prices or if good used deals are as well inteded to be part of the rig?

I don't think people should be able to save spots for their pics.

Why? Think being first in the thread will alter perception?

Yes. No pics, no spot. Post when you're ready with the goods.

well, if you post a Les Paul Custom and a Mesa Road King that probably won't qualify even if you bought it for $300 each from a cousin with ties to the mob.

Now something like a MIM strat through a Peavey classic would probably fit.

Let's keep this fun and simple please.. I think we all know what a budget rig is....

Are we allowed to enter into more than one category? There's always been some concern over this.

Thanks! I will try to get my stuff set up and get some cool peechures.

Sure. If you have a killer combo rig, a killer half stack and a bitchin home studio, why wouldn't you be allowed to enter all 3????

Ok noobs:

This is supposed to be your current rig. Take a new pic of exactly what you want to enter.

Not posting some old pic and then telling us this, this and this have changed.

The first year Duncan made us write out our username with a date on a piece of paper and put it in the photo. Maybe we should go back to that??
