So, due to an online bud fucking up his own iLok fiasco, I have an iLok coming in for cheap so I'll finally get to use the Virtual Console Collection I bought a month ago. I get poking around a bit online and see VCC 2.0 came out like less than a week after I bought the old version, and with several useful new features and better algorithms. I go to log into my account to ask if I could get bumped to the new version. Log in, there's a link under my account. Click the link, "Here's your free code for Virtual Mix Rack, which is required for the new version of VCC, and the links to download both."
Well fuck me silly. THAT's preemptive good service. Haven't even used it yet and I'm already a fan of the company.
Should get to break it out tonight and form an actual opinion on the plugins.

I was on their website yesterday and saw they were offering a free plugin. I was excited to try their stuff, but found that I need an iLok dongle... So I guess I won't be using that plugin! I am glad they got you taken care of!

iLoks suck, but I've learned to tolerate them at work and Slate basically gives them away with purchased packages. Unfortunately, I went full potato when I got mine and fell with it in my hand on the way to the computer, smashed it to shit, then sat there looking at it like, "um, wat?" So I had the software, but no way to use it.

I'm such a clutz it's a wonder I've survived this long.
I'm telling this sob story to this other dude and he's like, "well, I was a moron and ordered an iLok AND a software package that came with one, so I'll sell you my extra for shipping plus twenty." Asked him why he didn't just send it back and he said he was too embarrassed to admit it to the salesman.

Done.
But, I was impressed that Slate just set it up so I could upgrade without it being a massive fight.
Also, I was interested in Slate before Mike made it (un)cool. The iLok thing held me back for a while, which makes my moment of failure all that much more funny.

What will the board do when I (un)cool greenbacks? Will there be a reaping of souls?

Highly likely there will be a harvest and GAB will need to be re-seeded.

How in the hell did you manage to fall on the way to your computer? Did you slip on a pizza?
