My band is going to be releasing a single on Record Store Day this year and we decided to try and record it ourselves. So I've acquired some gear over the past few weeks and on Monday we started tracking. This is a section of it. I just finished up my first pass mix, I'll be revisiting it tomorrow with fresh ears and makes some tweaks but its basically done
I'm happy with how it came together. Let me know what you guys think.
There is some limiting on the master fader just to bring the volume up a bit, I'm going to actually have a buddy whose in school for this stuff master it for me.
Left rhythm guitar is my Jazzmaster straight into my Prosonic clean channel cranked Right guitar is my Les Paul into the Pittbull green channel
The cleaner wet tones are all the VHT with varying degrees Supa Puss, Context, and Mr Black Double Chorus
The cab was my Randall for both, mic'd with an SM57 and an MXL V67i. The tone is primarily the MXL with some 57 blended in the mid focus and body.
Bass is my 5 string build into a Kemper with some DI blended in
Lead tones are my LP into the Pittbull green channel, boosted with an MXR Classic OD.
Vocals are all the RODE NT2. Really like that mic.

Yeah, I ran it into the Focusrite Liquid preamp so thats helping, but even straight in I'm very very happy with it. Its a really good representation of Luke and my voices. Sounds sweet without sounding filtered
