Molot comp VST plugin (HELP WITH MIX)

I used this plugin on everything on this track including the master bus

BTW, I used the focusrite Red EQ and Comp on a bunch of this.

Added a cymbal, bass, fuzz, etc.

Are you hearing anything weird with the mix? I'm scared I over-eq'ed it. I'm also worried, I mixed the clean rhythm guitar too low in the mix.

I messed around with a little bit yesterday... I need to spend sine time with the manual to really understand everything it is doing. The preset for premastering added a lot of ess to the sound. It sounds nice though!

The mix sounds good to me... the only things that I am hearing are:

1. It seems like the snare is a bit choked off just before the reverb trail takes over.

2. In places the guitar modulation is a bit overwhelming and covers up some of what is happening behind it.

Great track though! Really a beautiful track!

1. I hear that now! I never know how loud to make the drums. I haven't really fallen in love with this free reverb plug in I'm using on the drums. I should have concentrated more on the hardware reverb going in.

2. Guitar modulation. That could be tough to address since everything had modulation on it. I'll just have to fix that in the future too.

Dude, the WA-12 with a bass plugged straight in works shockingly well.

Thanks for listening!

Which reverb are referring to? The guitar modulation I am referring to, are the most prominent in the mix... Are the effects on a bus or they on the individual tracks? If they are on the tracks, maybe bring down the amount of wetness they have (not much, just enough to complement the other melodies in the song). Or if they are on a bus, just lower how much of the guitar is going into the bus... It actually sounds good in areas, but gets a bit overwhelming in other places... It might need some automation of sorts throughout to reduce the levels...

I'm talking about using less of the free reverb plug in on the drums, and more of the Roland RSP-550 on the drums.

Do you mean "chorus-like" modulation? If so, it can't be addressed, as it was in the pedals. ?

Where does it get overwhelming? THX!!

I just listened back again on a different source and I stand corrected... It must have been my headphones just sounding a bit congested. The chorus effect along with the synth at about 4:22 is where it started to get congested in my headphones. The drums sound good but a bit much of reverb... what plugin are you using? I really like GlaceVerb and setting it to a piano setting for drums :thu:

It escalates!

Thanks, man!

BTW, I was thinking about you when I had the Nady Ribbon sitting over a crash cymbal.

GAH!!! You were my last hope! I've spammed my shit to death, and blew the wad before I finished the masterpiece.

The crash cymbal is a track by itself. Nady Ribbon -->Warm WA-12. It worked great. I just have a cymbal sitting in the studio with a pair of mallets.

Sounds good, I just feel like the drums could be up a bit higher in the mix. Keep the drum verb where it is, just up the dry signal a bit and it should be good.

i dig how it widens out at the end into a massive wash. i think i might be with you about the rhythm guit being a spot low-- but y'know- it still sounds great and i wouldn't sweat it unless you really want to add something to the monolith.. :D honestly-- i think the main part carries it anyhow and it might be busy if you brought up another part. i'ma listen with honest to god real cans here in a little while-- they just delayed work, so the universe afforded me a minute to do something!

i wanna hear the nady on guits though to get yer take-- i seriously haven't given that a whirl in a LONG time, and i'd like to hear what y' think of it, 'cause i seldom get a chance to mic myself much anymore, and i haven't got any projects on the horizon.. i should just toss the nady and a fathead on a cab and see what happens with an identical source.. it's just grabbing the time!

I'll try to track the nady later as well. Thanks!!
