Hmmm... Kind of want to adjust my rig...

So recently I have been really enjoying my Tweaker 15 head, more than my Marshall JCM900. So it has made me wonder about changing up my rig.

I like having a 50 watt head for the power when I need it, but I love the tone of the Tweaker. I have debated selling both amps, and just getting a Tweaker 40 head. The problem for me at the moment with doing that is the way my pedal board is setup. I am using a Carl Martin Octa-Switch which works amazing for single channel amps. If I got the Tweaker 40, I would want to upgrade the Octa-Switch MkII [which allows for switching between channels as a preset].

If I went this route, I could have a really flexible rig. I have read where people have stated that the Tweaker 40 and 15 sound nearly identical. Though, I have also read that Tweaker 15 has a more musical sound thanks to the 6V6 tubes.

So If I went this route, I would have to sell off some things to make it happen for me.

What do you guys say? Should I sell these amps and get a Tweaker 40 and an Octa-Switch MkII?

That would be win for sure! My wife, daughter, and neighbors would love me for it too :-q

I can tell you that I have no need for a 100 watt head, but damn I would love to try an older 100 watt Marshall for sure!

40w tweaker's sweet spot is pretty loud too.

had one for a while, and the 88.

I liked the tone at home, but it lost it's ballz in a band setting.

Yeah a friend of mine I play in a band with is endorsed by them, his jubilee SMOKES it hard IMO. Not really a fan, honestly.

I don't anticipate playing out much in the next few years. I have all my focus on finishing pharmacy school, so I am not too concerned at the moment for live settings. I know the Marshall would be great for live stuff. The Marshall sounds great, but there is something about the Tweaker that just draws me to it. The Tweaker seems much warmer and musical, whereas the Marshall has a raunchy cut to it.

I never thought I would consider selling this Marshall, but here I am... :idk:

Then you might like the Tweaker 40 for home use. It sounds great.

I found that 1pm on the gain and volume is where it sounded best for band use.......grew back some nads at that point, but it's pretty loud.

I can see the advantage to having two channels at home. Just plug in and jam.
The whole octa switch seems like a lot of hassle for jamming at home.

How much do you want for the JCM900?

The Octa-Switch was given to me by a good friend, and once I set it up, there was no going back. It really makes pedal switching awesome! I just set a my preset and it pulls it up quickly and quietly!

Right now I use my Tweaker 15 for my clean tones, and my Marshall for gain. I just have the one cab, so I don't use them with an A/B/Y box; so I have to turn one off to hook up the other. So I think having two channels would be nice, though rolling back on the guitar volume works to clean up my Marshall really well.

I like how the Tweaker 15 doesn't have to be that loud to sound good [which is especially nice considering I have a 10 day old infant at home]. It makes me wonder if the Tweaker 40 would be too much for me at the moment... I couldn't see it being more than the Marshall though.

I was thinking of listing it on Craigslist for $550. I have a Marshall wheeled carrying bag that I would be including with it... It looks like this:

I am just going through the "what if..." stage. I think that it would be a good move for me, but I have to get it through my head.

I wouldn't sell the Marshall for any Egnater.

Maybe sell the Egnater 15w and add cash for the 40w. But keep the Marshall.
