EZ Drummer Won't Open On My Computer

I had it installed on my XP laptop which died. Transferred the hard drive contents to my desktop. It's there, but when I try to open it, it keeps telling me to select a path and then, "no drummer found".

Do I need to contact toontrack? Or does this sound like a driver issue?

I want to upgrade the program. But I am not going to spend the monies until I get it working on my desktop.

I need a drummer fo shiz.

Thanks in advance!!!

I don't know if it works the same with EZ Drummer, but when I transfered my Addictive Drums to my new system all I had to do was go through the registration process again and then it was fine. They have an automated registration through their website though.

Probably best to hit up support if that fails.

Did you install the software (and activate) on another computer? Is that what you mean by "transferred the contents to my desktop"? If so, the EZDrummer vst plugin should be in your plugins folder on the new computer (iirc). I would go into your recording software and rescan for plugins.

You just transfered the data or did you install it again on your desktop?

You need the installation files. Either from the discs (if you have a physical copy) or downloaded from their site.

I am pretty much a caveman when it comes to this stuff.

If it doesn't require wrenches, I am lost.

This!!

And then problem solved. Unless it isn't, then in this case, it's not solved.

OK, I misread the initial comment as you transfered the hard drive itself over to your desktop. Yeah, you'll have to install from scratch because you may have the data, but you won't have any of the shit that goes on during installation.

Contact Toontrack support like NFA mentioned. You should have registered it, at some point, on the old pc. They will be able to point you in the right direction.

Yeah, I was hoping I wouldn't have to wait for their response. Oh well. Can't be a brat about everything.
